●Today I ask him, the Savior of the world, to look upon our brothers and sisters in Iraq and Syria, who for too long now have suffered the effects of ongoing conflict, and who, together with those belonging to other ethnic and religious groups, are suffering a brutal persecution.
今天我請求祂，世界的救主，眷顧我們在伊拉克與敘利亞的兄弟姊妹，他們已在持續不斷的衝突裡受苦太久，他們和屬於其他族群和宗教的人一樣，遭受殘忍的迫害。
May indifference be changed into closeness and rejection into hospitality, so that all who now are suffering may receive the necessary humanitarian help to overcome the rigors of winter, return to their countries and live with dignity.
願冷漠化為親密，排斥化為接納，好使身陷苦難的人獲得必要的人道協助來克服冬天的嚴寒，回到他們國家，過有尊嚴的生活。
●I beseech all who have political responsibility to commit themselves through dialogue to overcoming differences and to building a lasting, fraternal coexistence.
我懇求所有肩負政治責任的人致力透過對話來克服歧異，打造長久、四海皆兄弟的共存。
●May the power of Christ, which brings freedom and service, be felt in so many hearts afflicted by war, persecution and slavery. May this divine power, by its meekness, take away the hardness of heart of so many men and women immersed in worldliness and indifference, the globalization of indifference. May his redeeming strength transform arms into ploughshares, destruction into creativity, hatred into love and tenderness.
願許多為戰爭、迫害和奴役所苦的心靈感受到基督的力量，這帶來自由服務的力量。願這神聖的力量以它的馴和消除許許多多人埋首於世俗的顧慮與冷漠、全球化之中的麻木。願祂的救世力量化刀劍為犁鋤，化破壞為創造，化仇恨為愛和溫柔。
